TJ, i must say, your first episode for WAI i felt like i was watching the space version of Ms. Rachel. Comparing that video to this one, there is a night and day difference and you really seem to be coming into your own! Well done and keep it up!!

SpaceX not refusing competitor's launches is a wise move that was probably learned from history when NASA refused to launch for Europe if the satellites were intended for commercial purposes which eventually lead to the creation of the ESA and Arianespace which then went on to dominate the launch market for decades until of course hubris got the better of them and SpaceX is now eating their breakfast, second breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I think both the booster and StarShip fuel tanks over-pressurized causing the automatic self destruct signal. What fuel that remained in the booster sloshed around enough to cause a phenomenon called "Rollover." That is when the remaining fuel undergoes a rapid fuel expansion due to temperature changes within the fuel itself. Fuel baffles and more insulation would correct this problem. It does in the Petrochemical LNG industry.

Minor correction at 2:08 you say "Starships first flight demonstrated that this approach works..." - but Startships first flight (IFT1) didn't use hot staging, IFT2 did, so it was "Starships second flight demonstrated that this approach works".

The metal insert for the heat tiles is precisely what I predicted. It looked to me that the tiles were tearing due to the limited contact between the tile and the metal. To spread the load, add a metal insert. Of course all this does is contribute to Starship's mass and you guessed it, subtracts from it's useful payload.
