**WE ARE NOT SPONSORED BY VICTRON OR ANYBODY ELSE, WE JUST LIKE THEIR STUFF!**
After much deliberation, we decided on the Victron Multiplus Compact Battery Charger/Inverter 12/2000 for our Van build. It works like a charm for our rig on the shore power and AC side of our electrical system. In this video we'll show you how to set it up and wire it, as well as how to set up the separate control panel.

Some other features it has: 12V DC Input ** Pure Sine Wave 120V 60Hz AC output ** 50 amp transfer switch) ** 4 stage 80 amp charger for main battery ** 4 amp charger for start battery ** battery temperature sensor included

Here are the tools and supplies we used if you want to do the same install!

Good luck, and feel free to reach out to us with questions!

I found your video very helpful. I referred to it several times during my build, as my working space was tight, and I could just pause the video and use your nice labels as a guide....checking with a flashlight, after. I actually think it's perfect. Short and to the point. Music is not bad, either. Some people just love to find fault with anything. Thanks for making the video. It helped me out, a lot.

I bought the compact multiplus 12V 800VA 35A but when I measure the resistance between the phase and the neutral of AC OUT (without anything connected to the public network to AC IN) I have a value of 4.5 ohms and it worries me that I am short circuit

My unit showed up without the "C110" capacitor near the TR+ CHARGE terminal. The male terminal is also missing for the output. Does anyone have the value of C110? It's just to the left of where the terminal should be.

Hello and congratulations for the video
I come to you for the multiplus
can we use the ACin input not permanently on the network but just connect it to a 230V 20A socket (France) to just supply the ACin input to charge a park battery at night rate and use the ACout during the day to restore the energy to my electrical panel?
because connecting the ACin to the network bothers me a little because it requires a lot of steps because if there is a risk of injection into the network it is necessary to go through a Consuel I would especially like to be in self-consumption and from time to time be able to close the multiplus with a source inverter in my prolonged absence and switch to the direct network

Thanks for the demo. If Victrons design had positioned the units switch and LED’s symmetrically then the front panel could have been printed for Hz mounting on one side and printed for vertical mounting on the other side. This sort of finesse would just add another reason for giving this unit a big thumbs up!

Thanks for doing this video! I have a small rv that is set upnwirh a generator with ac shire power transfer. Would tjis work to eliminate the transfer box and the converter box (bith are progressive dynamics). I ask because, i need to upgrade the converter box go a lithium charger friendly one and same goes foe rhe trasnder box (got get one that habdles an inverter switch over). Thanks

Hello, nice video ! Can you please help on this :
My victron Phoenix Inverter 12v 750va just doesn't want to start, no led, no noise... I decided to open it and everything seems to be fine : the 3 30A fuses, the small fuse in the switch circuit, all mosfets and diodes. I basically see no short anywhere. It seems more of on open circuit somewhere as no voltage go to the drive board. Any idea where to look at ? are there any other fuses ?

Great video explaining thank you so much . One question please which would really help me to wire .. at the moment I have the Victron ip22 charger so can I swap this to the multiplus ? Take the wire from the ip22 and put them in ac out then all I need to do is wire the shore power to the ac in
Is this correct
Thanks

Is this charger inverter the old model or the new model because I understand the new model does not have screw down Clamps for the AC output but this looks like it does?

Super new to van life and we just purchased a van with this system already installed. Our system did not come with the control panel - is it necessary for proper usage?

Just a heads up it looks like the pointer for the Trickle Charge positive is pointing to the wrong place. its not actually the nut its a spade bit sticking out above it that you use a spade connector on you can see it at 4:32 :)

3:00 This post is NOT for connecting the starter battery it is just the other side of the fuse that connects the MultiPlus to your house battery.
The connection for a starter battery is in the middle of the fuse on the PCB underneath labeled with J11.
(at this model only! at other models it is maybe in another position)
Always look into the manual!

Will this run off of the solar batteries, and switch over to grid power when the batteries run low then charge up the batteries off of grid power?

I've just had the victron fitted into my mobile coffee van. I have currently got it on charge from an external source. The inverter is switched to on. In a few seconds of charging the green on light switches to the Amber charge light. When will I know if it is fully charged? Will the Amber light flash? At present the Amber light is permanently on.

I would like to see how this connects to the AC distribution panel and what this inverter-charger can power.

This things are amazing great for RV used. Makes cotek, iota, xantrex etc obsolete.

I think i saw some frey wires on your AC in on the neutral. Might be close to touching others.

What size of fuse needs to be used in the DC positive wire and how did you calculate that? Cheers

I have a question do you put any breaker in between the shore power hook up and the inverter charger? I don't think you mentioned that

Those stray strands on the 120V connections look sketchy. I would redo those connections and clean up the strays to prevent a possible short.
