Every Victron Inverter/Charger COMPARED!

In this video, we will be comparing every single Victron Inverter/Charger available. We will cover the EasyPlus, the EasySolar, the Quattro, the Quattro-II, the EasySolar-II GX, the Multi RS Solar, and the MultiPlus 500VA-1600VA, the MultiPlus, the MultiPlus 2000VA, the MultiPlus-II, the MultiPlus-II 2X 120, and the MultiPlus-II GX.

An inverter charger is an electrical component that serves two purposes. Number one, converting DC power stored in a battery bank into AC power to be used by standard household devices. And number two, using AC power from the electrical grid or a generator to charge the battery bank. Victron currently has 74 different Inverter/Chargers, and this video will break down all the available options and hopefully help you figure out 'which multiplus do I need?' For example, the Multiplus vs Multiplus-II, and the "old" Multiplus Compact vs the Multiplus 500VA-1600VA.

Thanks for this. I'm just about to finish install of my MultiPlus II 3000va on my narrowboat. I've gone with Victron due to the 'eco system' of everything connecting together and able to easily monitor from an app on my phone. So got one of these, an MPPT and a shunt and i've can pretty much monitor everything!

Hey Nate,
I am watching you channel for a long period of time, you are doing a great job!
You mentioned the negative watts flowing into your batteries, there is an easy solution, because you are using the shunt just as multimeter, you could swap in and out (I have made this accidentaly :D)
I am using a multiplus 2000VA (24V DC), one thing you could mention is that, for setting some of the important values (float/bulk voltage, absorption time) you need a MK3-USB adapter and the victron connect application for linux/mac/win... The default float voltage of the multiplus was to high (27.4V instead of 27V).
Keep doing what you are doing ...

I watched to the end, i guess i'm one of the 6 people, lol. This is an awesome video, I am still a year or two from my build and I can never learn too much prior to my build. I plan on a transit build similar to your recent build. I would like to have the electrical system be able to function as a backup power cell if I lose household power. My home has solar but no battery backup. If I lose power, and the panel doesn't see incoming power, the solar shuts down. I wasn't sure if this would be possible, however I will now do some research on the multiplus 2 split phase to see if this can achieve the goal. Once again, thanks for the video.

Thanks, it helps. After all that I'm still unsure of which one to pick for my classic trawler project. Since I have 50amp shore-power though, it sounds like It might be the Multiplus 2 2x 120. Whoever came up with this naming convention should be taken out behind the shed and beaten with the manuals required to decipher it all.
