The Puretec engine from Peugeot has the same problem . After 80000 km the belt was toast.Peugeot keep denying their responsibility .I had it fixed with new belt and cleanup. Cost was 700$ . In Europe they had a recall and would replace the engine, but in other places it was your bad luck

Naturally aspirated engines are the way to go. Trouble is they run like a dead donkey. So if you want speed be prepared

use proper recommended oil and there will be no problem!
