Hey John, excellent presentation.
Had my 1992 isuzu pickup 2.3l rebuilt two years ago.
Ran great for a while. Then one day engine started this subtle, annoying vibration. It has continued to this day. Pulled timing belt cover off, notice tdc on crankshaft was 180 off camshaft arrow. Any help?

Also consider balance shaft timing. Another thing, I've seen a flat washer accidentally dropped into a motor mount cause heinous vibration because it was jammed between the body side of the mount and the engine side. Twice in one week by two different techs.

I have an VW POLO TSI 1.2 it was in for a camshaft adjuster recall.. after VW changed it my car runs rough at idle and jolts from front to back when taking of at stops or driving slow in(kinda like a bad clutch feeling) in traffic and now takes ages to accelerate. It was bought brand new is a manual and has only 1000kms on it, VW dealer says its "normal". taking it back again. When sitting on between 1000 and 2000 revs the whole car shakes a lot...like really a lot. A friend of mine sat with me in the car saying thats not right. It did not do this before it went in. . They seem to be hard asses about it. I just want my car to drive normal again as its new and wasn't cheap :( I don't want it to bend valves as the dealers are probably gonna blame me for it. Quick to sell a car but don't want anything to do with you when they mess something up. Im not an Idiot with cars I have some knowledge serviced my first car a lot, but not mechanic level but I know this isn't how a car must drive.

damn toyota dealer didn't torque the balancer to correct spec after a timing belt replacement and it ate the keyway in the crank on mine. Hello new crankshaft. I would have emphasized getting the bolt tight more than anything else.

I know this video is old, but I just had my bf's parents friends shop who they have trusted for over 40 years replace my timing and you would think for such loyal customers and $4k worth of parts and labor, that they would do their best. Since I got my timing replaced, Head Gasket, both catalytic converters (subaru), and new flex pipe and welded middle to back of car exhaust system...I have had NO A/C when it was ice cold before that, heat shields are now rubbing or vibrating and I heard the ticking as soon as I got it back, but it would go away when it warmed up..everyone thought i was nuts and the engine wasnt shaking but it was and no one believed i could actually figure it out. When i noticed it, i filled up the oil tank bc i thought it was a rod knock, it seemed to stop it for one day and then it came back on every cold startup. I looked up on the car issues forums i belong to and ALL of the subie owners said if you didnt have it replaced, it would be a design flaw in the tensioner, but if you DID have it replaced, well then, its the shop that f***ed it up. Thank you for this insight.

I just replaced my timing belt on my 2005 volvo v50 t5.
and when I started the car (cold start) it ran perfect for about 15 seconds but then when the rpms dropped down to 900 (idle) the rpms just started going up and down a lot and then like 5 seconds later the engine just shut off. So something is definitely not right
