If you can reset the outlet but hear it click off when you plug something in or turn it on, then whatever you're plugging in has a ground fault and should be replaced. If it gets no power at all (using an outlet tester to check) after pressing reset (which you may have to press hard) and making sure the breaker is on, you need to replace the outlet itself.

All outlets in main bath went dead. No GFI in bathroom so we went to all surrounding outlets with GFI pushed TEST, red light came on all  around. No go. Went to garage and opened power box with breakers. all were visually in line but still reset one for bath.  Wife happy, her blow dryer came on. The circuit breaker only moved slightly when tripped.

Thanks, it is 2AM, raining cats and dogs, and my reset button is popping out.  This video helped me figure out what the heck is going on.
