It is SO rare to get a simple straight-forward answer to a question. It's like people will answer and explain everything else BUT what you were looking/asking for . I guess no one reads anymore. So Thank You for you clear concise answer and demonstration of what everything is and what needs to be done. I will look for more of your videos and clearly marked answers. My best to you!

You checked the right socket you connected the wires to but you didn't check the left socket. I assume it's 'hot' and working as well.

On load side there 2 pair of holes so it means only romex wires in other words only 2 branch circuits can be added on it?

If you have 2 wires and the metal box is not grounded like yours was in the video, what do you do?

So I am upgrading the 2 wire electrical that these Austin homes are cursed with. Installing with GFCI - with a sticker as per Austin code.
When I noticed the line wires are only measuring 78 volts.
Researching Google says low voltage can be caused by loose connections, but the meter is connected directly to the wires!
When I plug the voltage meter into other plugs in house I get 124 volt reading.
Can anyone help with what is causing this? Thanks,

If hooking up only 2 wires with no ground does it matter which wire goes where on GFCI? Thanks.

This is the best explanation I found. I have a question. I have a metal box as mentioned in the video. Does it cause any problem if the GFCI is not grounded and I test as you mentioned in the video between hotwise and metal box?

But my box has 2 black and 2 white wires. Are both black wires hot?
