You guys should try boiling the potatoes for a bit first and then fry them. So soft inside and crunchy outside without getting super dark

This series is a great concept but I wouldn't say these are different "recipes".
Also, this only tests the double fry method. No boiling, no steaming, no baking.

She is not quite finished with this. Personally, the fries looked over cooked. The double fry method is a little bothersome some times. But Lena is can get that french fry one day.

"I even like bad fries sometimes, if I'm...drunk." I'm with Lena.👍 Prior to travel, I do tons of research so when I visited Belgium I learned how they do their famous frites. Rinse off all the starch; fry low temp (still looks raw); rest until cool (up to several hours); second fry high temp until golden; salt. That's it! Delicious. Many national dishes (Moules-Frites, Steak-Frites, carbonnade flamande, white asparagus) are served with fries so I had my share. I know this was not about replicating Belgian frites but they are so tasty and always on my mind.😀 *_Another great episode._* Interesting tricks to getting extra crispy fries.

I rinse and boil my fries in salt water until half done then fry at low temp then refry at a higher temp. They come out perfect not burnt looking.

Bad temperature control. I do the water soak fries with low cook first and then high cook just like the way you did, but the high fry should be at lower temperature so they fries dont burn.

Great video but the title is misleading. All they did was fry the fries in three oils and soaked them in water, vinegar and pickle juice.

Great job Lena! Although the fries looked a bit on the dark side I’m sure they tasted good. Me I like a pale barely yellow McDonald’s type of fry but my mom loves her fries well done. To each their own

I disagree with those that say the fries are overcooked. Charred pizza and charred burgers are the bomb so why not some extra crispy fries?

In terms of taste and texture, how close to Trasher's is the final version of your fries? Their four known ingredients are apple cider vinegar, potatoes, salt, and peanut oil which matches up quite well with your final recipe. I believe they also do a pre-soak before the potatoes are cut.
