my late brother was a trained chef, and he would always comment on food scenes from movies and tv... I have respect and admiration for those who work in the food industry because of him!

This was a fun video to watch. I love working in the Culinary Industry and agreed with everything these guys said. In response to the comments below me: Women being in the kitchen is a fairly new concept. Men were the only ones allowed for many years. The idea behind it didn't start up until the late 1800s or so. As for people saying that cooking is fun and they want to be a chef based on what they see in the media, I have this to say: Be a chef, but you need to do research first. It is NOT all fun and games. It is stressful, competitive, tough, and will mentally and physically exhaust you. You need to keep up with trends, ensure sanitation and safety at all times, and know that this is literally a lifestyle choice. Once a chef, always a chef. You'll deal with non-stop work, pressure, stress, etc. You will get yelled at for things you have no control of. The culinary world can be fun, but it's nothing like Food Network depicts it as. Go into this wanting to learn about food. If you try hard and do your best, you can have lots of fun. I love my job as a baker, despite being criticized a lot, not having a lot of free-time, and all the body injuries I've received from my 10+ years in the industry. I originally became jaded thanks to culinary school not meeting my expectations that I had from watching the Food Network/Alton Brown. But once I started learning things and gaining new experiences and meeting amazing people, I began to love it. Sure I put up with mean people and ridiculous requests, but it's worth it in the end.

I like how when the chefs watch the scene in Ratatouille where Colette threatens to kill Alfredo if he doesn't keep his work station properly, the chefs' reactions are just: "That's fair."

Because of this video I saw all these movies and I have to say movies about food are very underrated.

The Ratatouille part, and Burnt movie with Bradley Cooper is so real. I've worked with chefs at that level of intensity. You could tell how much weight is on their shoulders that ultimately becomes yours to share with. If you aren't doing well enough back in the kitchen, it will show. Period.

I was a cook for 3 years and 7 months they’re right on the head about it especially the jeju group I couldn’t cook for 6 months until my training was complete. And a number of people haven’t been in that kind of environment from what I understand from reading their comments. It is not for those who do not know how to take criticism. Plus the reason why women are not seen in restaurants is because most choose not to work in them duh, you have to love cooking to actually choose it as a career/job. Most men are surprised when a women is a cook cause it is quite rare obviously you’d know if you were a cook.

There could be a completely separate episode of this just for cooking anime. Anyone want to see what they'd think of Shokugeki no Souma and Yakitate! Japan?
