I am using Metcal iron station for nearly 10 years. I think Metcal is the king of irons.

I was taught by my father to solder some 60 years ago, he explained the solder needs to be applied in two steps. First apply heat to the joint, then apply half the solder, this heats the joint on both ( all ) surfaces and applies some flux to the joint. Then apply the rest of the solder to complete the joint. This is the reason why there are different gauges ( thicknesses ) of solder, so you can apply a controlled half of the solder in two stages.

Here's a suggestion I hope you consider. Can you make videos on high density SMD Micro soldering and rework to AS standard spec.

Rework is the most challenging because it already has components around.
