The 'Move Over Law' isn't really enforced in California since its adoption in 2010. Requiring all drivers to 'move over' a lane immediately adjacent to a stationary emergency vehicle, tow truck or CalTrans vehicle displaying emergency lights.
Even so, I ALWAYS move over! It's quite scary when I notice that I'm literally the only one that does it.

Thank you, Officer401, for covering this. As a truck driver who makes every attempt to move over for vehicles on the side of the road, it angers me beyond belief when a car darts over into the lane I just left and speeds by. It never fails.

My dad was a paramedic in Las Vegas NV for over 15 years and also a fire fighter paramedic here in new Mexico for a couple years. And this is something he complained about constantly! Stay safe 401!

I used to drive a service truck on the PA turnpike and we would have troopers sit in front of our trucks while we were working to do the same thing, the would pop people left and right for move over violations

I’m from Illinois I’m really glad you did this video. My husband is also a Leo. But man sometimes people are assholes and will not let you merge over. So I opt to reduce speed, crawl past, and give as much room as I possibly can. Because honestly sometimes that is all you can do.

I pulled over for 2 officers and when trying to merge back into traffic was almost hit by a driver that didn't move over and FHP was right there to pull them over. Rare but i enjoyed seeing them pulled over. Another great video. Thank you for putting your life in danger everyday

Collecting revenue for a couple mph over or rolling through a stop is one the shit out of someone that is going to end up killing you is another and I would do the same.
