Convert .ppk to .pem key and .pem to .ppk key

Thank you for sharing. I am not able to convert a pem to ppt on my mac. I have ported putty on my mac using mac ports, xQuartz, command line tools, Xcode, (not sure if i took the long - it worked eventually!) the problem now is is that I am not able to open puttygen as a gui client in the same way as i can open putty, so therefore, I cannot convert/generate a private key (ppk), so that putty can connect to my ec2 instance on AWS Ubuntu server. Please help!
