I think Imu is the devil fruit that has exerted it's will over its host. the body is probably Lily which is why Imu is so enraged that its host could betray it

Another thought on why EMU betrayed Joyboy could be, unlike Joyboy, he couldn't get people on his side naturally. If what you say about him being like peter pan (which after your explanation makes sense), he wanted people to follow HIS ideas, but when they wouldn't, he MADE them, or killed them.
EDIT: that was the short of my idea. Luffy is indeed the new modern Joyboy, and my little theory was made because of Mihawk. Back in marinford, he said that Luffy had the power to surround himself with allies, and since he's awakened, he will be the actual antithesis to him. Also, WILD IDEA, what if blackbeard steals Imu's devilfruit?

Imu punished lili by somehow turning her into zunesha and forcing her to wander the ocean for the past 800 years as punishment for her “betrayal”

PAN-gea castle, Peter Pan's shadow having ability to move on it's own... On same arc we met Lily's descendant the villain pirate had a hook for a hand and was surrounded by bananagators... Also captain Hook feared the crocodile that ticked because it was symbol for death but we have Toki who is related to the Void century... Also pirates hide their treasure in Skull rock.

I was so sure the Ancient kingdom was named Laputa from tales of Gulliver but it seems it could also be Never Never land. Never, void, hmm...

As someone who used to be an orphan and grew up religiously watching Peter Pan I think you might really be on to something here. I wonder if Luffy is suppose to be a parallel of the nicer, Disney like version of Peter Pan who wants nothing but freedom for him and his lost boys/crew, whereas Imu is suppose to be this darker side which I've never heard of before btw but I'm definitely going to look into.

Pan's ability also includes the fact that he is able to manipulate his shadow and his shadow having a life of his own. So it would be interesting if Imu also have some show manipulative power that, as mentioned in the video, does turn your fears into reality.

You know, It would be crazy and awsome if Oda had interduced Luffy, the Strawhats, and everyone who reads and watched One Peice to IMU without anyone realizing it was IMU.

Imu possibly ate a Mythical Zoan DF, and Imu's personality was taken over by the DF. If Imu's personality wasn't taken over, then Imu's worst personality traits were further exacerbated by the DF they ate.

Thematically it'd make sense if Luffy's DF grants him the ultimate freedom, then Imu's DF operates on fear and subjugation.

Pertaining to the relationship w Peter Pan that’s some sh** Oda would pull from. I definitely remember hearing that Pan was supposed to be a villain which has some dark truths.

There’s a dark truth to the void century and something along the lines of Netherland may be it. I’m intrigued with this idea

That was a theory I didn't consider until now. It's crazy how well everything lines up with it

Assuming he is immortal and the op op fruit trick was the cause, perhaps the op op fruit has something to do with ridding him of his immortality. In that case, perhaps Trafalgar "D!" Law is a much more important character than we realize.

I think the shadows are vague representations of their true forms. When they’re all on screen from what we know in recent chapters, can tell Saturn is the furthest left and we know what he looks like now. I think the cartoony looks are just for fear and vagueness for now until they are all fully revealed. 5:39

Funny thing, the newest version of Peter Pan, the 2023 remake, confirms that at least in that continuity, Hook was a Lost Boy.
As well as giving Peter his demonic edge where all of it is just a game to him in the end.

You did really good. You did me proud. This is a great video. And yes Pan is a demon which was worshipped throughout history as a "god" in theology. And the way you pieced that together into one was pretty good. I think big Rubber D. Would be proud too.

when you started talking about Imu acting like a tantrum throwing child that didn’t grow up i instead started thinking more along the lines of Claudia from Interview with a Vampire, but then i started thinking about Lili and the child thing and now Lili is reminding me of the Childlike Empress from The Neverending Story 👀

Considering Lily, It seems that Imu is willing to allow the "D" to work for him rather than hunting them down. It makes me wonder if the celestial dragons are all D clan whom we're requested/demanded by Imu's forces to drop the "D" part in their name. Even within the Marines we have Garp & Saul were D clan men whom aren't treated as enemies.

Imu is Peter Pan? A really good theory. Especially, since Oda in the past have used Western pop culture references before. As for Disney...don't we know someone who has a long nose and tends to lie a lot, who is similar to a puppet whose nose will grow the more he lies (Pinocchio)?
