Yes! Do not apologize for our lifestyles. I love it. I too have been guilty of this but no more! I am proud of the way l live and for the choices I make. And it’s funny re: your comment about being embarrassed at first of thrift store shopping for clothing, but now it’s all the rage especially as many people are all about sustainability and being more environmentally friendly. By thrifting you are helping keep clothing out of the landfills and the carbon footprint low by not buying so-called “fast fashion”clothing made in factories which use a lot of energy and pollute and have bad labor practices and such. As they say “reduce, reuse, recycle.” It’s smart! You can buy lovely items for less and keep those items out of the landfills.

Well I understand what you are saying. I have several acres and a double wide mobile home. I have had people say negative things over past 21 years. My priority was land not a fancy house. Now I am very happy. Became disabled abruptly 17 months ago. Now live on a fraction of my previous income. My home being on 1 floor is essential. I don't have a lot of fancy stuff..my living room furniture is 20 years old and in good shape. My friend has just bought a 3rd living room suite in same amount of time. As far as clothing I wear house dresses in summer and sweat clothes in winter. Fashion is not important. My weight has been reduced through my WFPB diet for 1 year. I have paid off a lot of debt in 2020. I was not prepared for this change in lifestyle but am doing intentional spending. Due to my shape it is difficult to find clothing that fits so my choices work for me. I am actually proud of how much I have accomplished with very little. That is being a frugalist in my opinion.

My library has Libby and I check out audiobooks to listen to in the car with my grandchildren that I pick up M-F after school in the next town over. I let them help me pick a story and we enjoy it very much!

Haters will hate because that’s what they are placed on this earth to do, to hate. When you have haters that mean someone is jealous of where you are and your potential. People that are secure and happy with their journey in life don’t have time to hate on others. I thank God for my haters daily. That means I’m on the right track and the world notices. But great video, keep them coming.

I really needed to hear this. My mother, both of my sisters, and both of my husband’s sisters, and all four of their husbands, all have to have the best, the newest, etc. My husband and I are happy in our little chalet in the woods. We have barely 1700 square feet. We turned a bedroom into a pantry, another bedroom into his office, and another bedroom into my craft room/walk in closet. So now we have only one actual bedroom. No guest room. Our boys are married and gone. It’s just us, and we want the house like this. My mom doesn’t understand how I can live like his. I’m not fussy like everyone else in my family and his. My husband is happy that he doesn’t have a high maintenance wife. If I were like my mom or my sisters, we wouldn’t be married for almost 36 years. I wish I didn’t feel so judged by my family. I like listening to you telling us to not care what others think. I’m trying! Also, I crochet and cross-stitch, so I have been perfectly content during the first shutdown, and now during this new spike, where we are being encouraged to stay home as much as possible. There’s no place I’d rather be than in my little home. Thank you, and I really like your channel. Be well. 😊

Still making my way through your videos. The part about apologizing for your home... story of my life. This is a RARE opinion to find on YouTube though. I love how real you are!

I love the library! I also just signed up for Hoopla. It’s so great.
Thank you for the reminder to appreciate my house. Sometimes it’s hard when my friends are buying big, beautiful homes. Our house is clean, comfortable and cozy. We have everything we need.

Yes for the library promotion! My husband and I are both former teachers and librarians. I was at a book discussion group past night, post Covid. When it first started we did zoom meetings. Carole

I’ve been binge watching many of your videos, I just love them. And I can’t agree with you enough, I buy thrift clothes also no one would ever know the difference, but someone asked me at work where I bought it and I told them savers they were horrified. I didn’t like the way it made me feel but I had to put it in perspective and MoveOn. It just doesn’t make any sense if you buy something new and wear it it’s already used and if you wash it it’s no different. But some people just can’t get past it

I have 6 days no spend. On Mondays I will buy food and go to the New Horizons thrift store. Paying the rent is not included in my no spend days but it needs to be paid when it is due. Love your channel.
