One of my longtime roommates used to do a lot of DJ’ing at local clubs; had all of the common gear of lights/lasers & several many fog machines of various sizes. He gave me some of his older ones years ago. I’ve too have used small one for these types of automotive diagnostics purposes over the years. Besides using these methods, i do still very much prefer using (in conjunction, if necessary), my older diagnostic testing equipment, when practical/applicable obvi… (older vehicles).

I love using those smoke generator machines. They’re also great for finding leaks in turbocharged engine intake systems and they find leaks in A/C systems way quicker than using the dye method.

UV dye added to your oil and a UV light can make the harder to find leaks a little easier to find.

I, bought a smoke machine from my local halloween/costume store, for $55.00. Works great, for automotive purposes.

Two questions. How long did you wait for the smoke to permeate the cooling system before you saw it start creeping out of the hose? And did you drain it or was there some antifreeze left in the system?
I'm thinking this would be great for boost leaks on my truck and exhaust leak on my C5.

You should of got the s300 well better machine
