How do you find a vacuum leak easily on a car? You use a smoke machine to introduce smoke into the vacuum system and look for visible signs of leakage coming from the engine. This is a great way to test any vacuum system on a car such as the evaporative emission system or the intake. This is just a basic look at how the smoke machine is used and what it is. Yes, a shop doing the test…. Properly. Finding one is much harder than finding a vacuum leak

is it alrigjt to do the test through the air filter housing hose? better said intake hose? will it give the result for whole system?

Normal smoke comes out from Dipstick when pull it off ?

Running a smoke test on a 08 Impala the only place I'm seeing loads of smoke coming out is at the that indicative of a bad MAF?

So i just dropped around 2k to fix a fuel issue at the dealer. Check engine light back on this time for bank 2 lean. p0174. Car is a 07 Cadillac STS ive replaced the MAF, and the Purge control solenoid as it was allowing vacuum 100% of the time. still throwing a code, i have a smoke machine but need a device that can actuate the valves. what is the most affordable one you would recommend? im looking at the Ancel X7 will this do the trick you think? this will be a one time job so i dont need some big fancy high quality one to last me a life time. just one that will do this 1 job. thanks in advance for the help!
