Ubuntu 24.04 LTS is here. It's an amazing Linux distro with many new features including but not limited to GNOME 46, a new installer written in Flutter, a completely redesigned App Center, and others. GNOME 46 Kathmandu brings with it many welcome changes, including improving performance in the Files app, revamped notifications, a changed Settings app, and a lot more.

I installed the beta yesterday. No majors bugs at all, not even errors. Works perfectly fine! Excited for the full release to come in!! :D

This installs nicely on an older Intel Mac Mini. Picks up hardware including wifi from the start.

Two things I don't like are can't install downloaded deb files unless you install Gdebi or other installer. Also the app store doesn't list installed apps, you need to search for specific app in order to find out...

I just find the Ubuntu logo in the dock a little tacky, I much preferred the previous “apps” icon. Other than that, it’s what we could expect from Ubuntu. A pretty nice Linux Distro.

When you run Ubuntu live it always defaults to X11. Once installed it'll be Wayland.
