I started taking a laser engraving class, and ordered an XTool D1 Pro... it's scheduled for delivery Tuesday. I really liked your explanation of how the laser module works by combining 4 blue lasers. Lot of great info in your video. Oh, and great wall cabinet for your old D1.

I always have great respect for any company that implements changes that make things better for the user, instead of sitting on their laurels. The flame detector is probably my favorite improvement, but the limit switches and new rotary are a close second! Kudos to xTool for a great new product and kudos to you for a fantastic review!

Really would like to see a video showcasing that drop down cabinet for the D1 laser. That's a very nice idea!

Great video! A friend just got the 10W model and she posted a couple of items that she engraved on wood. So cool! I'm glad that it seems so easy to set up and the new software from X Tool looks like it would make the _learning curve_ much easier. Thanks!

I found this very helpful, my wife just purchased the D1 Pro 10W for me last night as a late birthday present. I’m brand new to this and never owned anything like this before, she got this for me as I’m a 100% disabled veteran and can’t work anymore. She wants me to have a hobby again as I’m not able to do anything I use to before. I became very depressed as getting injured, out of the service now, can’t really do hardly anything anymore, have a 1 month old son, and this brightened my day as all the things I could make for my son, wife, our other kids, family now. Family is important to me, I’ll have to start saving for a while so I can get the extension, roller, honeycomb things for this. We are on a fixed budget now since I can’t work, what one do you recommend getting first? I’ll start saving up for it a little at a time, also what would you suggest doing first to bring in some extra cash for my family also?

Hello! I am having issues with my Xtool D1 Pro Laser. I received it and tried it, the first try was perfect. Then the second time I tried it wouldn't work. The laser would move around but the laser light barely had any strength. It would move around as if it was doing the job and would take the amount of time the project would take, however there were no marks on the plywood or anything and the light was very very weak. You could barely see. I emailed customer service and it has now been a 3 month battle or recommendations and changes they want me to make which I have but nothing has solved the issue. I went ahead and tried another laser head which is the one for metals. I did 1 dog tag that came out beautiful. I went ahead and tried to do another dog tag....same thing happened....the light was too weak barely visible, the laser would move around as if it was doing de project but nothing would engrave. I didn't change anything on the setting from first project to second. I was working with pre establish material settings. Power speed and all was verified and still nothing. Do you have any idea what it could be or how to fix it?

Great review! Have you experimented at all with cutting foam with either your previous D1 or the new D1 Pro?
