CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) takes on Cheng (Zhenwei Wang) and his friends in order to stop them from beating up Dre (Jaden Smith).

FILM DESCRIPTION:
When a 12-year-old from Detroit moves to China with his mother and incurs the wrath of the class bully at his new school, he makes an unlikely ally in the form of his aging maintenance man, a kung fu master who teaches him the secrets to self-defense. Upon arriving at his new school, Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) develops a powerful crush on pretty classmate Mei Ying. The feeling is mutual, although the cultural divide between Dre and Mei Ying makes a friendship unlikely, and romance impossible. When cruel classmate and kung fu prodigy Cheng learns of Dre's feelings for Mei Ying, he harasses and humiliates the young outsider in front of the entire school. With no one to turn to for help, Dre confides his fears in kindly maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), a kung fu master who knows that serenity and maturity -- not punches and power -- are the true keys to mastering the martial arts. As Dre prepares to face down his intimidating tormentor, he begins to realize that the real fight is just beginning.

Jackie Chan has never hit a child in this scene, he hit them by using another child because he can't harm a child by hand. Modern Problems require modern solutions.

Fun fact: the actor who played Cheng was actually a super soft kid in real life, the movie director said that Cheng always checked on jaden after filming fighting scenes. Thats so cute~

Perfect scene demonstrating what being a master is about. An artform that is mostly lost on Hollywood these days. Jackie Chans improvisational fighting skill have never disappointed. Truly the greatest martial arts stuntman that has ever lived. Wish he'd start making movies again. Truly one of my favorite actors.

a wise man once commented "You know it's a Jackie Chan movie when he starts fighting with the first thing he grabs."

I love how this movie managed to improve on certain things from the original movie.

Johnny had the backing of that maniacal friend of his during Daniel's beating. Here, Cheng wanted to do it himself. No one said anything, but he wanted to continue.

Mr Miyagi directly attacked Johnny and his friends, but Mr Han made them hit each other so he wouldn't have to hurt them. He got tired and tried a lot harder, but he didn't hurt any children. He followed the art of self-defense to the core.

The ending was much more emotional than what we had in the original movie. It's okay that the original ending is very special to you, but don't deny that seeing Cheng hand the trophy to Dre while they both smile at each other is better than seeing Dre being carried by several people while Cheng cries on the floor.
