CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Dre (Jaden Smith) faces Cheng (Zhenwei Wang) for one last point on his bad leg, and wins.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
When a 12-year-old from Detroit moves to China with his mother and incurs the wrath of the class bully at his new school, he makes an unlikely ally in the form of his aging maintenance man, a kung fu master who teaches him the secrets to self-defense. Upon arriving at his new school, Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) develops a powerful crush on pretty classmate Mei Ying. The feeling is mutual, although the cultural divide between Dre and Mei Ying makes a friendship unlikely, and romance impossible. When cruel classmate and kung fu prodigy Cheng learns of Dre's feelings for Mei Ying, he harasses and humiliates the young outsider in front of the entire school. With no one to turn to for help, Dre confides his fears in kindly maintenance man Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), a kung fu master who knows that serenity and maturity -- not punches and power -- are the true keys to mastering the martial arts. As Dre prepares to face down his intimidating tormentor, he begins to realize that the real fight is just beginning.

The boy who played Cheng is so outstanding, his acting felt so natural

It's actually emotional to see such a raw moment of someone so fragile, like a child, conquering pain... He goes through all stages, sadness, fear, courage and satisfaction so distinctively. Great acting and great script.

No one is talking about how Dre was so obsessed with the snake technique, from the moment he saw it to this final scene, that he realized how being still and doing nothing are two different things. He was hung up on that technique and even drew it. Great foreshadowing.

The way Jackie Chan mouths “You won!” to Jaden at 3:29 is so emotional to me. Chan looks so happy and proud of the student he trained. Then Jaden is taking the victory in little by little. Amazing movie!

I don’t care what people say this movie was amazing.

3:06 was the exact expression a mother would react to their kids winning a champion. Taraji delivered it beautifully.

I like how Cheng was slowly starting to realize that Dre wasn’t going to give up. And he starts to respect him.

The crowd cheering for him, his mom facial reactions, the epic music, Dre’s tears, him getting up . Way to emotional. This scene was everything!

Both of them was such a great actor at such young age. They able to deliver the feeling with those facial expression that looks so real. Im not sure about parker, but the boy play the bad guy was first time in acting, but he did such a great job.

Small detail: I love how Dre still wasn't sure if he won or not so he looked at his instructor/translator to make sure of what happened. Him saying "you won" before Dre celebrated was honestly a really nice touch.

Jackie Chan’s reaction to that kid’s stance is like...
“I don’t remember teaching him that, where did he...oh now I remember...back at the temple!”
