The Golden Mountain or Golden Mount also known as Wat Saket towers 240 feet above the city and has a 360 view of the surrounding area. In the 18th century a plague killed up to 60,000 people and the area became a local crematorium for the capital. Today you can still see the graves at the base of the mountain.
