As someone with Social Anxiety, this touched my heart. I’m trying not to cry in a bus full of people.

She is her therapist. She literally described exactly what a good therapist does. Friends and family can be the best therapists you could ever find.

I wish everyone could be educated on this matter because when I was at school I felt so lonely knowing nobody knew how I felt, especially confident extroverted people. Throughout my life people have said to be just don’t be shy, it’s that simple or say something and you speak? It’s so much more than that. This girl has literally read my mind

Having social anxiety since 5 and has definitely got worse I have somehow managed to not cry in large gatherings i just simply don't look at them i look at my feet and counting the steps needed to get out of there
I once hurt my foot so bad because some people were staring at me!!!

I think there should be some community/platform where persons suffering from SAD can come together to help each other where they can share their thoughts with the persons who are similar to them and can better understand them and further that platform will help to start practising social interactions without fear of being judged where everybody would be of similar mentality facing similar disorder and with this SAD person will never feel there is already such platform please let me know.

Nobody wants to put in effort to treat an SAD sufferer because their own social circle will cast them out for being “weird” like the person they’re trying to help
