Stroke recovery doesn’t stop after 1 year. Period.

While the fastest recovery does take place within the first 3-6 months after the stroke, it doesn’t stop. It just slows down.

Our brains are amazing things and have to ability to adapt and change throughout our life. The key here is that you have to put in the work to see the progress. Remember use it or lose it. Be consistent, increase your intensity, and do repetitions.

I’m Almost 15 years post stroke. And I haven’t given up. I have recently added some extras to my physio schedule and I have never felt so positive about my rehabilitation. ❤❤ onwards and upwards. Day my day I’m not in a race. Except either myself 😂
