In this video, we cover a list of 6 monthly high dividend yield Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) that will make income for your stock market portfolio. In this list, we cover equity ETFs that offer higher yields due to the underlying holdings, and we also cover covered call ETFs that are able to generate higher yields by using call option premiums. These ETFs usually come with lower capital appreciation and don't perform as well from a cumulative standpoint.

I would highly recommend that you watch the video in its entirety rather than just quickly looking at which companies are mentioned to get a better understanding of what the company has to offer.

My advice is always to keep the majority in ETFs that cover multiple sectors. Then have a couple stocks, as a small percentage, picked out that you feel personally attached to or interested in. That way you can mitigate a lot of the risk but also have a personal touch to your portfolio. I feel this mitigates some of the emotional downsides or disinterest people have with investing. Also helps with the urge to constantly buy/sell with fluxes in the market. Grateful i have an adviser at this point. major Thanks to Rita Wildrin Mora.

Great video as usual. Is it beneficial to hold the American ETFs in your RRSP to avoid the taxes paid on the dividends from these investments? Love your videos great Canadian contact. You are a great hoser, eh?🇨🇦

3.9% yield on ZDV is less than inflation right now.

I'm not one to usually criticize, BUT....
Your calculations have made the assumption that these ETFs will continue to perform like they have for the past 5-10 years.
As we all know "past performance does not guarantee future results".
You can ONLY go by what the ETF is truly yielding TODAY !
ZDV 3.62%
XEI 3.38%
ZWC 6.04%
ALL are trading at yearly highs. So that gives a combined return of 4.33% annually.
While we can hope for appreciation, we can not count on it. As investors we have to go with what the ETF is returning today.
Better choices would be...
HYLD 10.0 %
ENS 10.09%
FFN 18.71%
These ETFs have a great track record of not missing or at least missing very few monthly pay dates.
The % returns are net of MERs and any possible appreciation in the value of the fund.

I don't understand. How does the capital appreciation of the underlying assets (stocks) affect me? Would the price of the ETF increase as the asset value increases? What does that mean?
