Hearing him and Bonds talking about their battles was really excellent work. Well done!

Wow. Barry and Maddox segment. Just wow these two. Wish we had known more of Barry this way. He belongs in the HOF.

It would save a lot of arms if more pitchers learned how to pitch like he did.

Greg is my favorite player ever. Watched him live in person and one day brought my glove to the park. During batting practice he was shagging in the outfield. He saw me standing there and threw me a ball. I caught it. He says lets have a catch. Me and the mighty mad dog threw the ball back and forth for about 10 minutes.

I felt like royalty or better. I was so happy. He chatted with me about how he gets the ball inside to a left handed batter to tail back across the plate for a strike and how to grip the ball. There is a way he does it it doesnt just happen by nature. It is the grip and his alignment to the plate.

When we got done playing catch he gave me the ball. I never expected the best pitcher of all time to treat me so good. I felt great for a week. Ill never forget him. Thanks greg.

2 facts about Maddux amaze me, one good, one bad
1. His 18 Gold Gloves are the most that anyone has ever won regardless of position. When people think of Gold Glove winners they think of Brooks Robinson, Ozzie Smith, Keith Hernandez, etc... and very few think of Maddux, yet he has more than all of them.
2. His career postseason record is just 11-14, and just 4-8 in the NLCS. For such an amazing pitcher the lack of postseason success is puzzling and disappointing.

I would like to see Greg and Barry attend a playoff game together and analyze an entire game of chess between pitcher and hitter.

I never heard the whole story about why he didn't re-sign with the cubs. I was a heartbroken kid at the time and all these years later it just infuriates me how they disrespected him. Damn Tribune company, couldn't care less about winning ball games or doing right by the fans and ballplayers. Hurt a ton to watch him go on to be one of the best pitchers in baseball history with a different team.

Big similarity in hitting technique between Bonds and Shohei Ohtani. They don't step forward with their lead foot. They lift the heel and there is a little movement when the weight comes down but not a typical step. Their weight is back, then when they decide to swing, they naturally shift to the lead foot as they swing. It's basically a golf swing technique like Jack Nicklaus. They've eliminated the difficulty of timing the step but retained the power.

The part about him serving up a hittable fastball to Bagwell just to plant the seed in his mind should they face each other again in October, that is very much like something a professional poker player would do. Intentionally make a mistake at a time when it won’t matter much, so that your opponent will think you’ll do it again in the future.

Didn’t throw 100mph everytime. Didn’t spin the ball enough to tear his elbow up every pitch and NO TJ surgery. what a surprise.
How can anyone in the Cub organization watch this and not want to just jump off the roof of Wrigley Field? Seriously. What a FN embarrassment. And this is coming from a die hard Cubs fan.

And when she files for divorce it will be "he was never there, and he was abusive for so long. I could barely stand to spend 3 million a year on nothing for 30 years. And thats why i need him to pay me 600 million."

I remember that when Greg came up with Cubs, on one occasion they used him as a pinch runner. There was a newspaper photo of him sliding with a "hey, this is fun!" look on his face.
