Peggy Hill. Peggy Hill. Peggy Hill. Good!

Eschumae, this is not to help the algorithm, it wasn't until the Owen Wilson episode I realized just how often Peggy repeated her full name. Presenting my longest video to date!

I heard that Japanese viewers of King of the Hill had debates of dubs vs subtitles like others have had over anime, and that’s amazing to me.

The moment Peggy clicked for me was the episode when they visited her mother. That is when I got that she was heavily neglected by her mom, and her entire personality revolves around her desperately trying to prove she is good enough. Both her and Hank are products of bad childhoods, but we are more forgiving of Hank's eccentricities because Cotton is such a reoccurring character that we don't forget why Hank is the way he is.

It’s irresponsible to lose a kid on a field trip but it’s completely idiotic to bring back an extra kid

I think you understated the episode where Peggy kidnapped that Mexican girl.. for one Peggy is literally a Spanish teacher yet she doesn't understand the girl is saying that she's selling cookies.. A employee that is negligent due to their inability to do the job they're literally hired to do are some of the worst people to deal with. Coupled with her huge inflated ego it makes for a real gag fest of toxicity. One reason why Peggy is most hated for sure

I think Nancy is worse than Peggy because she cheated on husband for 12 straight years. She never told him and hid that fact from him for 12 years. She also allowed Dale to believe that his own father kissed her leading to him to develop a resentment to his own dad. Dale had a opportunity to cheat on her but unlike her he never took the opportunity ( I wouldn't blame him if he did )

One of my only favorite Peggy moments in KOTH is the moment where Peggy admits to herself that she's just a fool who believes whatever she's told, because she really is and there are moments to prove that.

I can answer that question. It's because Peggy's a massive hypocrite that refuses to admit that she's wrong about anything! At least her husband, Hank Hill actually humbles himself every now and then, but Peggy is just insufferable to deal with! 😡

I can't speak for anyone but myself, but when it comes to Peggy, some of the smaller things she does, I can laugh at, but as someone who was raised and abused by a narcissist mother, a lot of the things she does hit way too close to home for me to be comfortable with. The biggest thing that disgusts me about her is her adamant refusal to admit any wrongdoing, much like my late mother.

Peggy Hill is the definition of what not to do as a auntie let alone a mother.

I don't hate Peggy, but I REALLY dislike her in "Goodbye Normal Jeans." Her jealousy of Bobby is absolutely infuriating!

I think the problem with Peggy is that her bad behavior always goes unpunished and is often rewarded.

Since people rely heavily on the fan theory about Peggy getting a head injury from her sky diving accident as for the cause for her narcissism. I think it's safe to say that the only way Peggy's personality could ever be fixed is if she got hit on the head with a frying pan or a 2x4 wood.

I don't hate Peggy Hill...I hate the writters DID to her. I fully endorse the belief that Peggy's character got MUCH worse after the Sky Diving Episode. Yeah, closer to that episodes premier, she was starting to get a little annoying but after that episode it seemed to have ACCELERATED her flanderization.

Hostley I think Peggy is a good character as in with how she's written and intended to be. My problem with her is that she rarely if ever actually learns any lessons from her episodes unlike with Hank and Bobby.

As a Texan I can confirm "God Dang" is a real saying. Used by those who don't want to use the Lord's name in vain. Because somehow damn is the disrespectful part.

Peggy Hill strikes all the wrong chords with people because she is realistic. We all likely know someone like her; someone that will never back down no matter how self-destructive and will seemingly go to any length to not be proven wrong. Her misadventures aren't even all that farfetched. Those pent up frustrations erupt to the surface when it's a fictional character. It's a sign of good writing.

Peggy hitting the ground while sky diving was the most satisfying moment ever.

Not using contractions is part of a very old school mannerism to sound more "upper class" and educated.

In general I've always felt a lot of cartoons were awful at creating an adult woman character without turning them into a wet blanket or a Karen and it's only in a few recent shows has that started to shift

Fun fact: the writer of KOTH wanted hank to be in hil late 40s to early 50s, but Fox was against it so they said in the prompt: "Ok, he's 30."

They don't just make fun of conservatives without demonizing them, they do it to the left as well (just less due to Texas being the setting). The most appealing aspect of the show is that they feel more human than most characters do, minus some minor characters.
