Summer Holiday Capsule Wardrobe

My summer holiday capsule wardrobe for 2 weeks in Majorca. I'm packing a selection of mix and match pieces to cope with the heat, with some more dressy pieces for the evening. I'm only taking 3 pairs of shoes so if you are an over packer check out my tips.

I so appreciate that you always mention the fiber content of the garments, it’s by far the most important consideration to me. I don’t think you’ve ever recommended a garment in a cheap synthetic, I know fabric quality is as important to you as it is to me. Here in the US, fiber content is rarely mentioned in videos and I get so frustrated when there isn’t a single item of natural-fiber that I can consider (skin allergies to plastics). I don’t want to go to a link if it’s going to be a polyester, acrylic, etc. item, because then I can’t get back to the video, I lose my YT queue, and it’s just too time-consuming. I appreciate that these other YTers do sometimes given qualitative descriptions, but they’re often very inaccurate and don’t tell me what I need to know. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole to look at so many so-called “cottony” or “lineny” items that turned out to be 100% polyester! In addition to natural fibers, I can also wear the viscose/rayon/lyocell family, too, perhaps because they have no plasticizers, generally.

Shoes are always tricky, they’re both bulky and heavy to pack. I like wearing a pair of slip-on woven-leather sneakers for the flight, then I can wear them for those days with more rugged walking, too. I think slip-ons look more neat and polished than lace-ups, are easier in security lines, but just as comfy. I like woven-leather ones because they stretch and conform to the feet, making the break-in time, well before the trip, as short as possible. For everyday, I take my most comfy, low-wedge sandals and for evening, my Sezane metallic gold Paula Babies, my favorite shoe style that goes with everything and is comfy and walkable. I take a small metallic gold bag for evening, too.

I also suggest that for any holiday you also need a pair of sneakers/trainers/Skecher type shoes for sightseeing or any time you may be on your feet for the day

I like Poetry and its sister company, Wrap London, a lot. You introduced me to these and so many other great UK/EU brands, most of our brands here in the US aren’t good. Even my old favorite, Banana Republic, is full of polyester items this summer, how disappointing. This degradation of quality always happens when a brand is owned by a big conglomerate corporation, they only want extreme profits and don’t care about customer preferences or satisfaction. I loved my new Poetry casual white 100% linen jersey blazer so much that I ordered a duplicate, in case, heaven forbid, I lose it or something happens to it! I hope they offer it in other standard colors next summer, their colors can be weird, like purple/brown or gray blue instead of neutral brown and basic navy. I find these tertiary and quaternary colors quite hard to style, I need basics and neutrals, not these oddball colors.
