My Massive Declutter Transformation

This week I challenged myself to start small. Declutter my living room jacket closet. This closet being unusable was making it so other parts of my house were suffering too. The task of cleaning up my space was creating a huge mental block for me. Hang out with me today while I attempt to make things a little easier on myself.

Quiv! I cannot stress how much of a BANGER this video is! It’s so good! It's a nice chunky length, features close-up time with the cats and had random asmr moments. You really got to show off your creativity in this as well! Experimenting with the different camera angles really added to it, the amazing insert of Jon demonstrating how that Cat toy trips him, really the editing was so good! I LOVE this. I recently had a bug problem and realized the extent of my clutter and was forced to get rid of things, but now I really see the value in my things and think harder about want I want to bring into my home. Really kind of vibed with "you can't take your stuff with you to the grave" as well

i drove around with a huge bag of my nana’s old clothes in the trunk of my car for like … a full eighteen months after she passed. hard relate to the “can’t wear it but can’t get rid of it” feeling! the day i finally donated it was such a relief (even tho i sobbed my fuckin heart out afterwards lol) + a few weeks later a Cool Girl walked past me on the street wearing one of her handmade dresses and THAT was the best feeling everrrr. she lives on in the hearts of depop vintage girlies 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Something I heard that really made a difference in how I look at the items I'm contemplating decluttering - if the item was suddenly stolen/lost/disappeared, how much effort would you put into replacing that exact item? If you wouldn't put any, that let's you know it's okay to let it go.

My husband and I will go through phases of whatever sweatshirt/jacket we like to wear, so those are the 1-2 that stay hanging by the door. When we get bored of it and switch to a different one, the previous one goes to the bedroom closet (the only closet we have in our apartment). Also, so lovely to see you again!! The twitch streams aren't really my vibe, so I've missed hearing from you!

You could -shocker- cut out the motive of grandpas tshirt and frame it. It's still a memory, but easy to "store" on a wall as an art piece!
