Followed your directions for 'Content Aware', but for some reason after I use the lasso tool, Edit>Fill Selection is grayed out and doesn't work.  Confused.  Can you help???

I was a Photoshop CS4 user but when I changed to a Mac recently it was not in my budget to purchase Photoshop again.  Therefore, I have switched to Elements.  Elements definitely has all the features I need for my digital scrapbooking but I have one HUGE complaint...the working space for the picture is so small!!  It seems all the window panels take up so much space.  My question is, can you customize this at all?  Like shrinking the size of the layers panel, changing the tools panel to one row instead of two and/or shrinking the size of the tool options panel.

I would like to know if it is possible to batch edit application of actions from one image to a group of images. I know the full version of photoshop has a "record" feature that can make it work a lot like lightroom where you can copy everything you did to an image and paste it to the next several images. I currently start my workflow in this way - start in lightroom and then finish up all my images in photoshop elements 9. I almost always apply actions as a final touch to my images for my clients. But it is always one at a time. I am thinking about upgrading to Elements 13, but would I gain this feature or is there a way I have this feature in Elements 9 and am just not aware of how to do it?

The answer: make sure the layer you're using is not a smart object. If you drag a photo from the Photo Bin in Photoshop Elements 13, it will turn into a "smart object" that can't be edited in many ways. The layer thumbnail will have a symbol in the lower right corner, if it is a smart object. Right click on the layer and choose Simplify to turn it into a regular layer that can be edited.
