On spot my swing for 20 years. After having watched this video this morning a bucket of balls on the ranch I went 9 holes 30 shots better than last night! Best of all it finally made me understand, that what I have been doing for 20 years, just does not work any longer at the age of 67! Thank you - I'm playing golf again! :)

I need to stream this in my brain over and over. Simple and classic good instruction.

I can't wait to try this out on the range. This has been an issue all season for me, I either block right or overcompensate and hook my approach. And, when things really go bad, this causes me to sh*nk it, because my hips are already through and my arms are so far behind I come up and out of my swing and hit it off the hosel. Excellent video, thank you.

This is a great drill to use to stop the shanks from excessive inside path aswell 👍it helps stop me dropping the club too much on inside and also stops early extension
Great video mate :)

Great information! I am a single digit handicap who is close to getting to the next level. It I struggle with being stuck and on my bad days it can get ugly. Mostly see this issue off the tee with the driver and 3 wood. The club gets behind me a bit too much on the back swing too

It's not just the better golfers - I had just this problem and I was off 21. This is a great mental image to have to help stop getting stuck behind. After concentrating on this (and trying to remember a little pause at the top) I shot my first sub 90 round ever. Now playing off 19. Thanks Chris!

Outstanding video!! Left shoulder pop up, too inside, too shallow, too much lateral slide are my issues. This solves them all. Thanks for posting, Chris!!

Chris, a big thanks for this. My game had deteriorated over the last few months and my pals all telling me to “get through it and turn better”. However, what I now appreciate is turning is v difficult when you lean excessively to the right. The belt and buttons thought allowed me to enjoy my game yesterday and hopefully I can build on that.

Thank you! This is not the first time I'm getting stuck. But, this is the first time I found out that it's what's happening. I've tried trying to draw the ball and it fixes it - but only temporarily. I'll try it.

Very well explained and thank you Chris. I'm a low h'capper with this problem creeping in from time to time, at the moment seemingly outside of my control. To be honest it's sapping my enthusiasm and now I can' t wait to take your thoughts to the range and work on eliminating it. I used to have an excessive left hip bump towards the target which I'm trying to turn into a proper hip clearance - I'm guessing they're all related movements. Slowly slowly it's coming together and no doubt your wisdom will really help me. Many thanks and cheers from Sydney, Aust - Dave

This is exactly the problem that I have been wrestling with. Great video and drill - I’m definitely going to work this into my practice and watch it again.
Thanks Chris - and have a great New Year!

Thanks for the diagnosis, I hit great shots yesterday. Due to getting stuck, when they were bad, they look horrible!

Hi, last few weeks this is happening to me. My playing partner (former #1 golfer at Big Ten School) is telling me:
1. Flipping the club to far inside.
2. Gripping way to tight.
3. Grip way ahead of my club.

The bad shots with my driver are either Blocks or I have actually hit the ball with the bottom of the driver.
I am also sometimes topping my fairway woods.

I was a 2 handicap. This must be what I'm doing that last two years. Felt like I was swaying my hips forward which would do exactly what you are saying.

This drill, combined with a focus on what your pelvis is doing on the back swing, can do wonders for those of us that fight the hook.
