Introduction to Macro Lenses

Macro lenses enable you to focus closer to your subject as compared to conventional lenses. Macro lenses also capture greater degrees of detail across the image plane compared non-macro lenses. Depending on the lens, macros enable you to photograph subjects at magnifications up to life-size or greater.

I like macro

It took a while but ended up with a Tamron 90mm F2.8 1:1 and wow.. you indeed see the world in a different way. Surely it is a whole different type of photography you have to learn but. Well the details..so nice. And at limited focus range it also makes a great lens to walk outside with.

If you feel like you're stagnating - not progressing - as a photographer, getting into macro images is a great way to re-light your creative fire. 

A good quality macro lens can also be used used for beautiful head-shots.

2:14 “macro lenses are manufactured in a choice of focal lengths ranging from normal to telephoto”. Actually wide angle macro lenses also exist. I own a Venus Laowa 15mm f/4 1:1 macro lens for full frame and aps-c cameras. In all fairness it wasn't on the market yet when this video was made.

Why there are not so many 200 mm macro lenses on the market? Even 200 nikon is not available anymore. Am I missing something?

My camcorder gives me a field of view down to about a centimeter or less.  Does that mean that I'm magnifying the image about 35 times the actual size?  It depends on the size of the viewing-screen, right haha?  Soon, I will need to get a macro lens and I like your introduction video.  Thanks

Please help me!!! I bought a Sony Alpha 6400, and now I need lenses!! My budget is not big, but I need 1 lens to start. I was thinking getting 35mm 1.8 and then I come across macro lens!! I need a lens that will be good for my cat videos and pictures, but most important to take pictures of my husband artwork, both to add pictures to his website but also to make prints! So should I go for the macro lenses here? Thank you ☺️
