A new Fedora Desktop workstation featuring KDE Plasma Desktop will be released soon. The focus is for Linux Content Creators to be able to have a new official edition of the popular workstation edition from Fedora Linux which is great!

I've moved to KDE Plasma 3 weeks ago because I was tired of the gnome extension bs and of the buggy GNOME 47 and lack of features, and the experience I have on KDE is 10 times better the one I had on GNOME.

The KDE Project makes a desktop environment for their community, the GNOME Project makes a desktop environment for Red Hat.

If GNOME doesn't find a way to accelerate its development/increase its funding, it will end up being overshadowed by Plasma and COSMIC.

I'm already on Fedora KDE 41. I finally left the Gnome based Linux universe about a year ago. I was on Tuxedo OS and now Fedora KDE. I'm glad they're putting more muscle behind Fedora KDE, it's a really great Linux distro already. It's only gonna get better. Between their efforts and those of the KDE team to develop Kirigami we should see and even more polished experience going forward. The focus on performance from the KDE team is what makes it worth using.

I moved to KDE this last year after using Gnome for a long time. I have been back and forth between KDE and Gnome over the decades, but have been more on the Gnome side since KDE 4. However, I moved back to KDE this last year because they were ahead of Gnome on the graphical and Wayland support. I was shocked to see how stable KDE had become. It was night and day. They have really been focusing on stability the last few years. It still has issues here and there, but honestly, along with the customizability to make it my desktop and the stable behavior, it just works best for me. This is no slight to Gnome as I do love it as well, but Gnome has built what they think a DE should be and makes it a bit more difficult to change, whereas KDE is more about what the user wants. Both methods are great and just depends on what you want. Fedora is my main system for work and play.

I recently switch from gnome to KDE because while I like my gnome+extentions set up better, it just crashed too much and was too unstable (especially with obs).
have not had a single crash on KDE even with a very complex OBS set up.

its funny saying that.... because it used to be the opposite where people would really like KDE but switch to gnome because it was more stable.
feels surreal to be saying the opposite right now.

I just made the switch to Fedora/KDE from Windows, 2 days ago on my Blade Stealth GTX1650. Aside from my time with my SteamDeck I'm a total Linux noob. The switch was simple and easy. Got RPMFusion and flatpak working. I think I installed Nvidia drivers via console. can't figure out how to make fedora use the 1650 and not the IGPU. But it's not a major problem for me. I'll figure it out one day.
But I'm very impressed with Fedora.

I'm very new to linux and have tried 9 or 10 distros. Fedora with KDE is the only one that feels like a high quality windows replacement. Arch is pretty good too.

Gnome looks very pretty but kde is more functional.
I want to make kde look like gnome. I want only the theme. Not floating dock thingy.
