How to Install KDE on Fedora Gnome install and vice versa

You can install just the "KDE (K Desktop Environment)" group without the "KDE Plasma Workspaces" environment group (which is a superset, being a group of groups). You end up with less cruft that you probably don't want (like I suspect Dial-up Networking). I think the environment groups are supposed to be stand-ins for an actual Fedora Spin.

I have been using gnome a little bit and it feels so much smoother somehow. Sadly things aren't totally perfect yet but that has nothing to do with either plasma or gnome.

Thanks a lot for the video. One question, will the applications installed under gnome be usable under kde and do they have desktop entries for the launche and or the dock? I have quite some applications installed and am hesitant to install kde just to find out, that all the applications are missing. I assume we have to differentiate between gnome apps, flatpaks and so on.

I was asking myself if you do backup your system files in some way like with timeshift or anything? I tried timeshift for the case that I break my system since I'm a noobie, but it is not intuitive to get working on fedora since the default partition sceme is not compatible with whatever timeshift needs

To clarify you use Nobara for your daily Fedora flavor? I may give it a try. Currently on Cachyos. I assume I can install gnome in a similar fashion?

CTRL+SHIFT+B? I use Shift+Insert. Same result less keys to use. 😁
