KDE developers make good progress on touch gestures!

Intel officially revealed the technical details for their new dedicated GPUs, in the form of the Arc series

The notion of protestware seems to establish itself, as a few open source developers update their libraries or programs to display anti-war, or pro-ukrainian messages.

Fedora 36 is out, well at least the public beta!

Thunderbird, the venerable, but not extremely nice looking or user friendly email client will receive a nice bunch of updates soon in version 102

Extension manager had a new release, bringing some nice features to better handle the few drawbacks of GNOME extensions.

Nvidia is working to get the nvidia drivers working with gamescope, the compositor used on Steam OS

Valve is gathering information on a list of games that have problems on the Deck.

Still on the steam deck, its library of certified and playable titles has now passed the 1900 games mark

Looks like there's a way to play Steam games on ARM CPUs with proton using Box86.

Wine 7.5 has been released

I never thought there was not enough happening to need more videos, Linux has been popping off lately, and weekly videos of the news reflects that

Fedora is looking more and more great. When I get my own Computer (because my main laptop that I'm using is also my older brother's) I might make Fedora KDE (I like KDE) my main OS.

Good to hear that an update to Thunderbird is coming. It is still my preferred email client.

A cool feature that it has is to do inline replies with the "Conversation" add on. It was broken for the longest time but is now working again. Glad to see Thunderbird getting some attention by the developers!

Interesting Arm is getting more attention. We're going to be seeing it grow in a big way, with apple leading the charge. within five years, I bet the majority of laptops will be arm-based, and even some light-weight desktops as well. The architecture is scalable, so who knows how far it will go.

One thing that I would absolutely LOVE is the ability to save _specific lines_ in Kate rather than having to save the entire new edited file. I’ve had several instances where this would have been incredibly useful and powerful but since I’m not in any forums or anything I don’t know where to request this.

at 07:09 that is great, I've been using Material Shell in my gnome laptop, and made KDE behave and look the same on my dektop. So in general I'm happy more people can see what it is like to have more useful information on a smaller UI

Imagine a homebrewed Nintendo Switch with Arch Linux ARM running box86 and box64 and then using that as a steamdeck alternative (yes it would be slow but it sounds really awesome)

Hey, love your channel. I’ve seriously binged like dozens of your videos at this point. I know you said you prefer/recommend Fedora to new users now, but could you do a video comparing Fedora 36 and Ubuntu 22.04? I want to use Linux on an older laptop and am waffling between the two.

Edit - I’ve used Ubuntu before so am a bit familiar with it. But they both use Gnome 42 so I’m wondering what the differences are.

Can't wait for Fedora 36 to replace W11 on my 2019 era PC.

Also dropped any hopes of getting Fedora in any functional capacity on my 12 year old laptop. I simply can't install/boot Fedora without nomodeset and that limits the laptop to LLVMpipe instead of Intel/Nvidia.
