Your advice about not sending a mix on the day you finish it is soooo true. I recently re-sent a mix 3 times instructing the client to bin the previous one. So yeah, valuable lesson.

Great advice here. This is also a great way to learn how your monitors respond within your room if you're mixing in a less than perfect environment!

I really like how you carve your frequencies on the instruments. Good video. :)

Great video David. Good song and nice mix. I can't believe that vocal sounds so good from a undoubled single track.

This sounds really crisp and clear. I’m new to mixing but I do mainly hip hop. I love instruments in general and the drums compliment the guitar tremendously (in my opinion). If applicable could you share with me any tips on mixing vocals in reference to a hip hop song. I’m thinking the basics would primarily be the same, but I would still value your input and apply it to my workflow. Thanks in advance ...

Just wanna share two ideas I got: When he goes "can I feel it's worth iiiit", maybe add reverb/delay there as you were talking about. Let that like fly away in the background and bring in the "o-ooh" clean before the chorus. Then when the chorus hits, I feel I want thicker walls of guitar on the sides, or at least a little thicker than in the verse. Problem is they chug all the way until the chorus, making the change abrupt, so maybe cut out the last notes and hit with a thicker wall of guitars on the sides so it feels different from the verse. Or maybe ad a sweep or something to transition into the change. What you guys think? I'm pretty much a noob, and I listened to this on earbuds haha.

Cheers, thanks alot for the great video // Elias

Great video, and love the song. It would be nice to see how you did the whole mix cause it sounds great already!!!! Let us know if you decide to do a video for the mix.

Man, yr tonal shaping of the various mix elements is on point. Is this because you are very conservative with the available frequency distribution in the mid vs side image.

Do you ever do small changes to the mix based on knowing who is gonna master it?

This is a great video! But mixing a client's work would you actually change the arrangement for them?
