7 steps summary:
Part 2
4) Accept this moment as if you have chosen it ( accept the feeling, don’t beat yourself about it, accept what is going on, don’t be a perfectionist)
5) Find a way of eating that is free and balanced ( No dieting, eating balanced meal, don’t label certain group of food as good or bad)
6) Practice high quality Yes and No
( don’t be a people pleaser. Part of you having a trantrum having urges to binge )
7) Connect with other people on the same journey ( U r not alone, other people can also support you, seek professional support if it helps too)

No 7 is hard for me as feel embarrassed. I am trying to fix myself quietly using inspirations from someone like u. Thank u so much. May god bless u and all sufferers to recover from Binge eating soon 🙏❤️

I went to OA 3 times but felt it wasn’t for me as the only person in the group that was successful was the group leader and she wasn’t interested in sponsoring anyone. Regardless I chose to find help via other channels such as this and a private counselor. Journaling is helping.

Wow I am so happy to have found you. Thank you so much for these 7 steps. I am about to go out, buy and journal and start working this out. I have been referred to my local Eating Disorder Service but there is a one year wait. I knew I had to stop trying to lose weight, which I did about 5 weeks ago. But my binges are still so strong and more frequent. I felt like I was raw but achieved what I was told to do. Then left with, what now?! Having my partner not understand and question why am I still binging when I weigh 17 stone, is not a good feeling. Thanks to you I am about to move to the next step. I might also try and be super brave and join my local overeaters anonymous group. I feel even more shame because I am a mental health nurse 😣. Just wondering where you are based and what setting you work in?

How do you eat in a way that gives you freedom when food just doesn’t feel free? If I eat healthy foods then I feel “diety” and if I eat what I really want I feel crappy because of health issues and it’s still not freedom. It’s like I am never free around food because I have prediabetes.

Your presentation has a lot of interesting ways of thinking about this. Many of these seems useful and insightful. One massive thing missing that sticks out like a sore thumb here is exercise. My rough understanding is that there is solid scientific evidence for only about three things leading to increased probability of long term weight loss and exercise is one of them. Finding social support, your step 7 is another. Avoiding foods that trigger wanting to eat more is the big third.

Re balance, most people can't do "freedom/moderation", that's what caused weight gain/dieting/bingeing in the first place
