Unlike many of his successors, I think this guy's heart was in the right place. He tried to fix what Nixon messed up, for example, and he also offered clemency to people who objected to war.

One of my favorite presidents. Not perfect, but I believe, based on what I have learned about his ethics and motive, that he was trying to do his best for the country.

I was 14 and disillusioned by Watergate when Ford took over. He always came off like a decent, honest man. The sort of man a lot of later presidents pretended to be!

Ford did quite a lot in his short time as President. I think if he had won over Carter (which he should have), he would have done some really brilliant work.

i have a man in my town who met Gerald Ford and i think but i'm not to sure Gerald Ford accidentally dropped his watch into his hands of course the man gave the watch back

He copped a lot of flack in my opinion if he won outright without all the Nixon criticism it would have been a lot easier for him to do his job he always seemed like a humble man the Nixon pardon really backfired on him but I guess he should have expected that he seemed laid back for a republican you don't see that much nowadays i liked Carter also they both seemed humble and kind at a time when America was going through a lot of hardships it would have been interesting if ford had won the election wonder in which direction he would have led

Only problem with this guy is that much of what he tried to do ended up creating problems he did not anticipate. Case in point - when he pardoned Nixon, it got him stuck in a whirlwind of criticism!

Also created the stagflation of the late 70s and committed a genocide in East Timor

But his biggest accomplishment was him falling down the stairs of an Air Force one :(
