i remember the first time i got killed in dayz, it was the mod, must have been 12-13 years ago. i went into a long barn and there was a european sounding man with a ghillie DMR. i said hi i just got dayz. he said "welcome to dayz, remember this" and shot me. i remember it so vividly

Usually folk are kind to new players. 2 randoms and we were trioing, ran into a player, just standing in the middle of the field, dude goes "it's my first day" and one of the guys in our trio go "welcome to dayZ" and shot him unconscious. I didn't have a gun but the third dude with us did and ended up killing the noobie killer and said "we don't welcome people to a good game like that, we aint rust"

You can either use your mic to tell them it’s for first day or hide outside the building their in, download audio of gunshots, lure them to a window or outside the house, and pop em when they’re not looking

I legit found out the view and hearing radar thing the other day.

Been playing for a few weeks, but literally yesterday i was laying in a bush after just shooting someone, zombie comes to the sound of the gun and practically walks into me.

They strolled past to the point they pushed me out of the bush, but they didn't notice me? I was amazed.

You can actually just lay down n not move a muscle, and you won't be detected lol. Crazy

About the looking at the map online, I actually learned Cyrillic because of this game. My friend was very dumbfounded when he tried to open the online map to look for a town name and I just read seamlessly.
