The M4 is faster than the 911S in actual instrumented tests. Lets look at some published test results from Car and Driver magazine shall we?

0-60 = M4 in 3.9 vs. 911S in 4.0
1/4 Mile = M4 in 12.1 at 119mph vs. 911S in 12.4 at 116mph
Rolling Start 5-60 mph = M4 in 4.2 vs. 911S in 5.0

Price as tested = M4 $80, 325 vs. 911S $148, 245 (almost $70, 000 more for the slower 911S).

In addition to these faster test results against the 911S, The M4 also decimates the regular (non "S") 911 in the current issue's head-to-head comparison, taking first place overall.
The results in this video don't reflect those of actual instrumented tests, and are likely due to a bad launch.

Only Porsche can make a 6cyl naturally aspirated car keep up with a 6cyl twin turbo car, even with less power and torque. Amazing !

Since more than 50 years a Porsche 911 is a Porsche 911 and everybody knows this car. In less than 15 to 20 years, nobody remebers a BMW M4.

You get what you pay for ;-)

That depends of the conditions of the test, i see the m4 struggled to launch maybe due to it, i think it would be faster or the same as the porsche

Their speedos are both off the gps readings, so yo can't really tell wich one is faster by the speedo

hmmm it doesn't even look like the m4 used it's launch control!!! They should be neck and neck, or the m4 just slightly quicker.
If this was an auto Porsche with PDK vs  manual m4, it's not a fair race either.

 the bmw is the better car in my opinion. porsche are quick in the start because of there traction and fast shifting PDK  BMW is the ultimate driving machine

M4 shouldn't lost the race, 3.0 twin turbo should faster than 6 cylinder NA anyday, Seem M4 struggled with traction at 2nd gear, Porsche got better traction maybe because the weight at the back.

The point of this video is not that the porsche is (slightly) faster... The point is it costs way more, has less torque, needs more petrol, less daily use, imo doesnt look as good as the M4. Periot.

The Porsche Panamera Turbo S beat the BMW M5 from a stand but if they do roll race from 50kmh the M5 will win it easy by much so what happen here in this video is the same make both do a roll race from 50kmh and the M4 will win it is from a dig race its so hard to find a car that can beat the Porsche

That flat six in the Porsche sound so much better than the BMW's straight six. I really like the M4 but the Carrera S just sounds better
