Hmm. From my observations, correct me if I'm wrong, the BMW used launch control while the Corvette started off from idle. The Corvette driver mis-shifted from 2nd to 3rd.

Also, if you watch the odometer of the Corvette, it is the same as the other Corvette acceleration run videos earlier (vs 911). So, this is the same video used in the previous videos. I reckon, with launch control (does the C7 have it?) and a better gear shift time, both cars are even. Maybe the C7 might be a tad faster...

M4 definitely accelerated quicker but it seemed the C7 had the edge on the top end.

I knew M4 was fast but I can't believe it was faster than a Corvette. A heavier coupe and 3, 0L T engine vs a lighter 6, 2L NA sports car. Love both, great cars.
I think Corvette will benefit much for the new automatic that according to GM shifts very fast.

You guys need to stop using that C7 video and shoot a better one. Crappy launch and slow short shifting isn't an accurate representation of the C7 acceleration abilities.

This weekend I had the great pleasure to drive the new BMW M4 and I can tell you, that this car is amazing. On the one hand it is very fast and sharp as a knife in terms of cornering, and on the other hand it can be comfortable and silent as well. The acceleration is really unbelievable!!

Lol, this wasn't only a transmission advantage. It would be very close if they both had manual. The bmw still stands a good chance.

That's why American cars are always playing catchup. So much power, so little efficiency. It's not about how much power you have - it's about how much you can use. The Corvette can't use much. Didn't they only stop using leaf springs a few years ago?

Remember, the M4 still had another 2 gears to go. Interesting to see them both rev out to the top. Stock vs stock.

what i see the m4 performing at its best with that dct while c7 driven like if it cursing  around very slow shifting .. and bad launch with tc on ..once c7 comes with a new 8 speed.. you cant make this type of videos

did anyone notice fuel consumption on corvette? 39.5 L/100 KM. . .  ogo go
m3 on other hand, needs 15 L/100 KM or less. around 12 l/100KM

La carthographie course (circuit), n'est pas activée au vu de l'affichage du compteur de la stingray, ce qui fausse les performances de celle-ci !

look closer. traction control held back the vette at lower speeds. the bmw had a great launch and just a hint of wheel hop induced by the 1-2 shift. that bit made the difference but eventually the vette would have caught it.

The corvette is not on sport 2 mode or even a track mode, which means it is not use launch control system.

Just watch the digital speed readouts on both cars, you'll notice the M gets a huge jump through first into second. Reason why is easy, M had traction control off. The vette driver left traction control on which severely intervenes the entire first gear. The vette catches up at the end so it's clear which is faster stock. Now, tune that M and it's a different story.
