BMW M4 vs Audi RS5 (0-200km/h)

From a standstill to 200km/h in both the new BMW M4 and the Audi RS5.

I have owned both cars and they're great but for very different reasons. The Audi is fast in any weather, particularly off the line, however it's heavy and the steering has no feel at all, you push the accelerator and point, it's like the car is driving you. In the corners it's weight shows and the under steer is pretty bad. Having said that the sound is awesome, and the build quality very good.

The M4 is a completely different beast, it's much lighter and feels it when driving. The steering is awesome you just point the car and it goes. Off the line you have to be careful with the throttle, ease it in whereas the Audi you just floor it and the awd takes care of everything else. On a rolling start say from 40 to 50 the BMW just leaves the Audi in its tracks (friend still has the rs5) the Audi just can't deal with the torque of the M4.

Overall I have chosen to stick the BMW, it looks and fees more special and it's an engaging drive whereas the audi drives you. M4 is a drivers car.

You're saying that the RS5 is outdated... The E92 came out in 2008 and still well performing against the brand new 2012 RS5, so what can you say now ?

Well, the recent RS5 is a 2 year old model. Heard the next one will be lighter and faster. We shall wait and see. 
Stop stupid hating on the Audis. They are good cars.

I don't think you used launch control on RS5 if you do you will experience all that power and Quattro in your face.

i´ll take the sound of a nice high reving 4.2 V8 N/A over a sound system that tries to replicate the sound of an inline 6 any day. Who cares if im 0.2 secs slower from 0-62.

Idk why everyone has a hard on for the m series. The audis have a lot more advanteges. the M3 has nearly 30, 000 in add-ons, they arent 4 wheel drive, so you cant even drive them year round (unless you spend at least $500 on snow tires). Also i find the Audi's are more luxurious, and the bang and olufson blows the harmon kardon out of the water. In terms of performance i think the audi has a much softer ride without taking away the sporty feel. Also bmw makes you pay extra for the adaptive m suspension which should just be included with the actual cost, and the rs 5 tops out nearly 10 mph more than the m3/4 coming out of the factory. I also personally think apr is a much better tuning company than dinan for people that use that. On a final note, i dont want people to think im too biased against Bmw. I currently own both brands and dont really have much to complain about either one. Both great cars

BMW AND M POWER! If it's not a Audi R8 V10, don't even bother. It will always be a M6 or B7 Alpina for me.

Bmw is newer than Audi. The next generation will be a lot faster than bimmer. It's almost win with the M4.

rs5 is 200kg heavier than m4 and 2wd is always beat 4wd in straight after launch so m4 can not doing big difference here

in north east USA where i live (NY/NJ/CT) it snows 4-6 months per year... so the audi awd wins based off that alone.. also, BMW's especially 3 and 4 series (old and new) are about as common as honda or toyotas. who wants to be in the same car as everyone else when you have other options available? its also mostly suburban teenage or early 20's white girls who have bmw, why would i want the same car as them?? thats not my demographic nor do i share the same taste of a little white girl. but to each his(or her) own

der rs 5 kackt sowas von ab und hier geht's nur um langweilige Beschleunigungs Duelle. Auf der Nordschleife macht der m4 mit 7:52 neben dem rs5 selbst den e63 amg nass und deklassiert sie eindeutig. BMW ist und bleibt ne macht :)
