My 4C Natural Hair Journey | One Year Length Check | Vlogmas Day #16

A lot of people have been asking to see my natural hair. It has been a year since I did the big chop and I thought it would be great to do a length check to answer all the burning questions about my hair and also for me to keep track of my natural hair journey to look back on!
Enjoy! ☺️ ❤️

Do you prefer your hair natural or relaxed?

Congratulations on coming back to natural hair. My hair was a greasy, broken and pointy mess when it was relaxed - that was more than a decade ago. My natural 4C hair is all of that and I absolutely adore it. Not to mention that relaxers are proven to be linked to uterine fibroids and breast cancer. No thank you to all of that!

It takes a lot for natural hair but once you get it to a healthy state it is so beautiful. Your hair looks healthy and that style is so cute on you. Good job, Becca. Braid it at night put your satin bonnet on and wear it out like that for a couple of weeks. Braiding it at night helps to stretch it some and keeps it tangle-free. Go, girl looking good. 🥰

I'm enjoying my natural hair. I started my journey two years and three weeks ago, and so far, I'm happy with my decision. You have beautiful hair, healthy hair, and I am here for it.

I'm so happy for you Becca, I remember last year when you cut it. I use to get hair relaxers when I was growing up, my hair is thick and course so it help to handle it.

I haven't put a relaxer in my hair in 6 years. It was going well. Them it stop taking and I decided when my stylist to take a brake and now I wear my hair natural now and I love 💞 it. Because my hair grows fast and I can't do anything with it when it grows out.

I have Cerebral Palsy on my right side and my right side is the weaker side. And I have seizures, so it's easier for me and I get sore spots in the center of my head when my hair grows to much and it doesn't help when I have seizures and migraines.

So I can't put my hair in a ponytail and I don't have the strength in my right hand etc.

I loved 💕 my hair when it was long and I had people to help me take care of it.

My older sister use to do my hair a lot. She became a Cosmetologist and would make sure my hair was always taking care of.

She did my hair for my prom and that was the last time she did it.

She was suppose to do it for my high school graduation but she passed away from cancer.

So nice to see your progress in a year's time keep it up, your doing great. 👍 Love 💞 the outcome of how it looks when you comb it out I like it.

Now I keep it short and it is more manageable. Brush or come it out. But I keep it short so I don't have to comb it so much.

But I'm loving life and letting nothing stop me even my hair. I had learn to embrace my hair and be content with myself and the changes life brings. Much love.

Nice progress! Your hair looks great. Can relate to hair ups and downs and the duct-taped hairdryer lol, though I only air dry now.

Keep doing these hair updates! Keratin treatments would be good on your hair if you ever decide to try it. I'm naturalish. I haven't permed my hair in 7+ years but I do get it washed, blowdryed & straightened every 3 weeks.
