In a pinch I've screen mirrored my iPhone to my MacBook as used that as a monitor.

Love this Matti, thanks for the video!

hi. thanks for this video. about auto focus: do I understand correctly? you need to tap the screen to set the focus to the object you tapped on. (besides setting focus manually using rhe slider). QUESTION: how can I set auto focus when I film myself for talking head videos? I would have to walk towards the phone and tap the screen, but obviously my face would not be in the canvas at that moment. any solution for this?

It's mind blowing how good Apple Log looks edited. I was shooting in a forest and the camera Canon had problems with HDR but the iPhone is a beast. Just I lost insanely fast my battery and storage :v

This is one of the channels that gave me the courage to start my YouTube channel 8 months ago about self development. Now I have 1, 128 subs and > 900 hours of watch time. I know it’s not comparable with others but I’m still proud I started because I’ve been learning so many lessons that I could haven’t learned without getting started in the 1st place.

Thanks for the tips, Matti. I'm actually thinking about getting an Iphone and using it for filming. I have a question, sorry if I missed this info in your video, but what do you mean - you don't see what you are filming? The Iphone screen turned to you when you are filming, no? Or I don't understand smth?

So glad you brought up the splitter for the drive and the mic!

You might be right. But I use the sony zv-e10 with a good lens for just a bit cheaper with my students. We get some great looking footage. The iPhone might have better dynamic range but clarity and depth of field is a lot better on our cameras.

Hey Matt, what external lens do you recommend for the iPhone 15 pro? I shoot a lot of fitness videos! Thank you for creating such great content!

Thanks for the advice! Did you know you can mirror your iPhone screen onto a Mac and use it as a second monitor? It’s quite handy.

Hey Matti,
Great Video!
I was wondering if you could share a link on how to get the multiple USB-C adapter.
Thanks!

What about using screen mirroring to view what you’re filming on your Mac.. works seamlessly and bigger screen as well 😅

I'd love to see you pit it against the DJI Pocket 3. Obviously the lens versatility isn't there with the pocket, but there's a lot to compare.

It's scary to see how good it is! By the way, I've been curious. How do you create a lut? Like I've seen many grading videos & tutorials, but I am very curious on how you specifically create a lut?

Great video! I'm a novice youtube creator and I wanted to make sure you considered (in reference to cages) the Smallrig for iphone 15 pro. It seems to have endless mounting points for shoes, tripods, handles, and what i love is that it leaves the back exposed if you want to slap a magsafe battery on there while filming. I ordered one of their rigs and they're supposed to ship soon. Doesn't have a USB splitter but does I feel like that could be incorporated using... somehow XD. If this is a terrible idea, make a video about why for other novices like me :)

Thank you Matti for a superb video, the luts you use and how you're editing with FCP. 🙂
I started with an iPhone 7Pro back in 2017 to shoot some B roll video, then bought a year ago the 13 Pro MAX with 1 T of memory to compliment my Nikon D850 and Z8, and like, wow - what a difference! I've shot a lot of video using the Filmic Pro app in 4K extreme - the results on the 13 Pro are outstanding! I'm considering upgrading to the 15, but for the cost, and what I get now with the 13 Pro, I may just wait till the next iPhone iteration comes out.
Cheers and thanks!

What's the best app to edit log files in the iPhone ? Because CapCut and InShot are not available to color grading in the iPhone
