I make something similar with kielbasa (and no chili). I slice up the kielbasa, brown it in a pan with some diced onion then add 2 boxes of the mac & cheese noodles (not the cheese packets yet) and 3 cups of water. Bring that to a boil, then put a lid on pan and turn down heat to a simmer. Set a timer for 12 minutes. When timer goes off, add you cheese packets and whatever else you normally use (butter, milk or water) and stir until combined. Sometimes I add some shredded cheddar to make it extra cheesy. When you cook the noodles with the meat and onions, it takes the overall flavor of the meal up a notch 😋 this makes about 5 servings at our house

I make chilli mac all the time, its a staple in my house and It tastes soooo much better and creamier with velveeta or any type of shell mac and cheese :P

Chili dog mac is good, goes a long way, and can be fancied up with shredded cheese a chopped onion, a can of diced tomatoes and green chilies, some sour cream, whatever.
