Σύμφωνα με δημοσίευμα της Λιβυκής ιστοσελίδας libyaobserver, το οποίο βασίζεται σε πληροφορίες της ειδησεογραφικής ιστοσελίδας Africagate, ο Καντάφι επέστρεψε στην πολιτική σκηνή της Λιβύης.
Φυσικά μιλάμε για τον γιο του πρώην ηγέτη της Λιβύης Μουαμάρ Καντάφι, τον Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, ο οποίος αποφάσισε επίσημα να λάβει μέρος στις επερχόμενες προεδρικές εκλογές.
