I don’t know about war moving society, forward, but it definitely moves the bank accounts of the military industrial complex forward. That’s for sure.

Some people could be repressing violence, while some people could just be straight up domesticated. Regardless, it’s how you channel aggressive energy that matters. It could be both for good and evil.

In the Cherokee traditions, they used stickball (precursor to lacrosse) as a way to settle disputes and issues. It was known as the "little brother to war", had nearly no rules and the winner basically took all (it was also an equal opportunity). Little to no deaths, and included violence in a tightly controlled way.

Idea, instead of just general PE being mandatory for school, make it a fighting class. Chose any EFFECTIVE Marshall arts the exist, karate, wing Chung, various forms of boxing, and make them a class. Gets the violence out in a controlled environment and makes people stronger, smarter, and more in control.
