With Ukraine slipping from his grasp, Putin is pouring billions into the Arctic—military bases, icebreakers, and infrastructure—to secure its trillions in resources and vital shipping routes. From polar bear stunts to massive industrial projects, Russia’s Arctic ambitions are rooted in geopolitics, energy, and climate change. But NATO and the U.S. are pushing back. Why can't they just stay within their own borders 😑

Edit: I live in 🇫🇮, so, this was more a rhetoric question 🤓

Just when you think you couldn’t do something much more stupider you go on and do something like this. I guess Putin really does want NATO at his doorstep.

I hope Putin does not have his eyes on the Canadian Arctic. Any action there will involve a response from NATO.

America had an airforce base in Goosebay, Canada 1941-1976 but closed when the U.S. thought it was no longer necessary. Looks like it’s time to reactivate it. 5 Wing still operates a forward operating base of CF -18s. there as well as training for allied forces. Let’s get the old gang back together again!

I hate to tell *Putin* but if he tackles *Canada* on the other side of the *Arctic* ocean, he'll find himself in a world of hurt.
*Canada* is a part of *NATO* and this time we'll _include_ the *Ukraine.*
Not to mention that *Sibir* will slice his *Federation* in two. His _trillions in in resources_ actually belong to the *Siberians* and they quite sick of him.

The problem is not Russia, the problem is that all governments are submerged into a geopolitical paradigm of domination and control. It's up to us citizens to vote for those representatives who promote international cooperation instead of nationalism.

Can you imagine where humanity would be if we spent ALL the military cost of the world on helping people, improving things and fighting climate change? Humans can be such idiots.

😂as a Canadian I wish you’d try…. You thought Stalingrad was a tough winter? We haven’t come up with new war crimes in a while, we’re due. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Small problem: even without ice, the weather up there is still so insane that in turns oil rigs into modern art.
