I always forget how devastating and nightmarish the Omnic Crisis was. For a game with such a bubbly and lively vibe, it sure does do a good job at hiding Mass systematic genocide and an extinction event.

I’m now convinced. That new hero in the tank pool from Blizcon is almost definitely Wildebeast. He comes just before Winston in the selection screen, which lines up when you sort him into the existing ranks alphabetically. That’s a cool tease.

I got the book myself. Loved all the lore we got about the world of Overwatch, as well as diving into its character’s backstory and the timeline before and after the Omnic Crisis.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Hivemind becomes a character in the game, I remember her being in the concept art for the game early on

there's a handful of video game worlds that I just love and will try and learn every little fact about and Overwatch is near to the top of the list. Learning that the first crisis lasted 2 years and in that time 1 billion people died not only helps the player understand the destruction and why it was such a big deal but also why everyone was so scared of bastion when he was introduced to everyone.

The Xibalba program adds more to the speculation surrounding Sombra. Did she perhaps uncover a remnant of Xibalba? For those that don't know, Xibalba is essentially the Mayan underworld. There's certainly a lot of death motifs surrounding Sombra, huh? And that connection to energy and power sources. There's a lot to theorize here.

I am also shocked to learn in such a short time Anubis took out such a huge portion of humanity... it is surprising they kept Anubis online in containment after all of this, instead of deactivating it.

see the new lore about Anubis just confirms what ive been telling people about ramatra. he doesnt hate all humans nor does he want all of them to die. he just wants radicals liberation and equal rights for his people. if he wanted all humans to die he would have been on the side of Anubis. which makes sense why he was so angry at pharah for her assumption.

Rein truly became a real soldier. Not mindlessly following orders just because you were told to. He was able to think for himself and made the choices he felt was best, despite him getting shit on for it. He didnt fall and stay in the trap of becoming the mindless miltary dog whos only function and purpose is to follow the barked out orders of his higher ups. He made one of the hardest decisions for a soldier to make, thinking for himself and deciding what is right, wrong and what the best course of action is. The best soldiers arent the ones that will follow orders blindy even if it meant their demise. The best soldiers know and are trained to think for themselves and not be reliant on orders and directions to do what nees to be done or what is the best decision to make/ line of action to take. Rein deserved better. Brig knew that. But Rein didnt care. He just wanted to do what he felt was Right.

Another thing i would've added: the other 6 ecopoints. Samoa geothermal, Osa reptiles and antifungals, Zealandia healing water and air, Monterey helping sealife, Tarapoto for Amazonian ecosystems, and Connemara for bogs/swamps. Also how Macaria protected her people.

I want to point out with the SEP info we got there's a loose end created by Victoria wishing she could get data about if any of the enhanced soldiers were able to pass down their abilities to their kids and interestingly enough Reyes does have a son and his name is still unknown to us. Sounds like Reyes Jr might be a major character Soon™️

So happy to see you still making lore videos after all these years. I have enjoyed the game since release (leaving aside some of the decisions made by upper management), but it was the lore and characters that made me fall in love with it in the first place. I particularly love Omnic lore so it's very interesting to hear about the God AIs.

I always find it amusing how advanced societies struggle with climate change when they have technology at least twice more advanced than our own. Overwatch had struggled dealing with this Omnic attack; That’s probably the reason why Hana Song was probably recruited to Overwatch.

She had experience dealing with this and was only one who can lived to tell somewhat of a tale. (Not confirming if her team was KIA or MIA)

Overwatch had such a negative reputation that South Korean government made the MEKA group to stand up and take OW’s place.

Taking the D.Va’s comic, in the bunch. The leader of MEKA later allowed Hana to transfer to OW, while the rest of the team stayed in Busan/ Korea so they can have a connection to OW. Before OW2, we didn’t really have that much information besides them targeting Korea specifically? Could The Gwishin Target other Asian countries? Would love to see DVa mention that or somewhat extra lore.

Something I feel people don't tall about enough is that the reality Overwatch lives in, and ours, is slowly becoming very real with the rise of AI and how advanced it's becoming. It's all very uncanny.
