Hunter gatherer lifestyle is our natural state of being and maintains harmony with life upon earth. Farming mans attempt to take advantage of nature creates disharmony and total unbalance on the planet.

My Ancestors are Cheyenne who cycled from ancient hunter gather to farmer to basically abandoning farming for hunting again. We were once the tallest people on the planet.

If it was so wonderful we would stay the same… and we didn’t so the answer is obvious, and from genetic point of view most people have genes that are dormant… need proper environment to trigger them!

If the overall hunter gatherer lifestyle was better for you then why did they live to like 40 yrs old max.

What a load of shit. First of all, they are called hunter gatherers and not just hunters because they mostly gather, not hunt. You got people to think they were hunting big game all day when, in fact, they were probably hunting small animals. Most of the times they were walking and foraging for fruits and berries.
Secondly, look at the few hunter-gatherer tribes across the world. Not a single powerful muscular man, only slender men with thin arms. Yes, maybe they have good bone density in the legs, but that doesn't entirely predict everything else people are imagining.
Thirdly, farming as an activity was as physically demanding as the hunter-gatherer lifestyle. They just didn't walk as much, so maybe their femurs were a bit less dense, but the overall work needed could have even surpassed the activity levels of hunter gatherers. This could account for the height drop of farmers as they were expending the same energy but sometimes with less reward when the crops were failing. However, farming was a smart move as it enabled humans to settle, and by doing so, they were able to craft more tools and develop.
