I really appreciate this "Re-Framing" of what is freeing versus "restricted." I believe eating in the original manner is staying true to what we were meant to eat, and is therefore liberating. Eating the standard American Diet is actually what is Restricting, in particular restricting our health. This is a classic appropriation of language, which should be a sign to us all how there is a problem.

Well westerners eat a high carbohydrate diet. They would need to restrict their carbohydrates in order to consume less carbohydrates. If you eat a hunter gatherer diet, your carbohydrates will be restricted. As in you can't eat as much as you want, its restricted.

I don't feel restricted at all. Been carnivore for over a year and feel great!

I am a 16 year old boy, I was, at my fittest, 155 lbs lean and muscular during wrestling season last year, gained some weight after to 170 which is kinda normal after season so I’m still healthy at 170, but I broke both my arms in a lifting accident, and gained 35 lbs because I couldn’t do anything and was steal eating the American diet ish, then once I was healed I was 205 lbs and feeling sluggish and terrible, lasted for a while and tried to fix it but cutting calories did nothing and was just discouraging, then, after visiting a friend, he told me about carnivore from Joe Rogan and asked me to look into it cause he saw I got fat. I did, tbh I was really skeptical, but tried it, I’m not gonna lie, the first two weeks were really hard and discouraging, diarrhea, headaches, cravings, hunger, but… getting past it was amazing, my skin is cleared up, sleep is nicer, I no longer crave sugar, only meat, I’ve lost almost 18 damn lbs in 4 1/2 weeks after starting, and have clarity of mind. I feel healthier then ever, my plan is to eat like this preferably for ever, and this is, tbh, how all humans should try to eat, I have strayed from it every once in a while but always get on track and it isn’t too damaging, but overall, it is amazing.
